Every year for Christmas we bake cookies. This year we topped these delicious chocolate and oatmeal cookies with California raisins.

Put softened butter, brown sugar and sugar in a bowl and beat with an electric mixer until it gets a creamy consistency.
Put flour, baking powder, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in another bowl and stir it together with a wooden spoon.
Add the butter-sugar mixture to the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon until the dough comes together and the flour mixture is completely distributed.
Add eggs, raisins and oatmeal to the bowl. Knead the dough with your fingers until the oatmeal and raisins are evenly distributed and you have a dough that can be shaped into balls.
Form balls of the cookie dough with your fingers and place well apart on the baking sheet.
Bake the cookies at 180 degrees (regular oven) for 12-14 minutes.

150 g California Raisins
1-2 tsp vanilla essence
225 g butter (room temperature)
150 g brown sugar
200 g sugar
200 g flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
250 g rolled oats
